Listening Rock Farm is committed to sustanable farming and forestry practices. As a farm, we use large amounts of fuel in our daily activities, including fuel for tractors, trucks, generators, and furnaces. While we do not believe that biodiesel is the answer to the world's fuel problems, we do believe that it is a viable alternative energy solution for our farm. We produce biodiesel on a daily basis from used vegetable oil that we collect from local food service businesses and schools. Our cost to produce biodiesel is less than $2.00/Gallon and it serves our goals of trying not to use fossilized carbon based fuels, which are not only expensive, but also environmentally and morally complicated at this point in history.
